Course description: Drs. Reb Close and Casey Grover will provide an evidence-based course on pain management and opioid prescribing in dental practice. Topics will include the responsibilities and requirements for opioid prescribing, best practices for pain management, identification and management of patients with opioid use disorder, and best practices for educating patients on safe pain management.
Casey Grover, MD. Dr. Casey Grover is board certified in both Addiction Medicine and Emergency Medicine. He attended medical school at UCLA and completed a residency in Emergency Medicine at Stanford University. He currently practices in the Emergency Department at Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula and has an outpatient Addiction Medicine practice.
Reb Close, MD. Dr. Reb Close is board certified in both Addiction Medicine and Emergency Medicine. She attended medical school at UCLA and completed a residency in Emergency Medicine at UCLA. She currently practices in an outpatient Addiction Medicine clinic, provides addiction care in a street-based clinic for unhoused patients, and also has a clinic in the Monterey County jail for incarcerated patients with addiction.
